Summary

Fridgely helps you track the food you have, reduce waste, and cook smart. We collect only what's needed to run the app, we don't sell your data, and you can delete everything at any time.

What we store

• The food items, shopping list, meals, calorie goal, display name, and notification preferences you add.
• Your account: if you sign up with email we store your email and a securely hashed password; if you use Google or Apple we store the name and email they return (used to identify your account so your data syncs across devices).
• We do NOT store your Google or Apple password, and we never see your raw password for Google/Apple sign-in.

Photos you take

When you scan a receipt or your fridge, the photo is sent securely to AI providers (OpenAI and Google) to identify the items in it. Photos are used only to generate that list and are not stored by us after processing.

AI-generated content

Recipe ideas, recipe images, calorie estimates, and expiration estimates are generated by AI and are approximate. They are for general guidance only and are not medical, dietary, or food-safety advice. Always use your own judgment, especially for food safety and allergies.

Third-party services

We use OpenAI and Google to process images and generate recipes/estimates, and Google for optional sign-in. Your data is handled by these providers under their own privacy policies solely to provide these features.

Data retention & deletion

Your data stays until you remove it. In Settings you can:

• 'Delete my data' — erases your items, shopping list, meals, and profile.
• 'Delete account' — erases all of the above plus your account. Uninstalling the app without an account may also make your data unrecoverable.

Children

Fridgely is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
